Social Security: All You Need to Know
As this post over at TAPPED says in a lot more words, what the Bush administration is proposing is pretty simple: benefit cuts combined with higher taxes for the middle class. That's it. Well, no, that's not it - it gets a lot worse, even (e.g., enormous borrowing), but that's all you really need to say about what the Bushies are doing - higher taxes on the middle class, combined with lower benefits. Doesn't seem to make a lot of sense, does it? Well, it does if your agenda is to destroy people's faith that the government can do anything (good) for them.
